Why the Career Coach worked for me:
“The Careers Network at Staffordshire University is one of the best Careers Advice Centres that I have ever used. There is a plethora of well experienced and educated staff available every day and willing to help any student with a problem they may have, for example the help I received was mainly related to CV Development, Interview techniques, Personal Statement advice and Covering Letter Templates. In order to help me secure my placement at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a Management Trainee, the Network helped me to take my basic CV that I had created at age 14 and develop it into something that would stand out in a pool of talented undergraduates looking to secure the same placement as myself. They also helped me search for placements and pick out ones that were more suited to me based on location and job roles, write covering letters and tailor my CV for each and every application I made. Even when I received news back from potential employers they calmed my nerves by advising me on what to expect, how to dress and running me through some mock interviews to develop my technique. Overall, it is completely safe to say that without the help of every individual at the Careers Network I would not have secured a fantastic placement that will give me invaluable experience with a company that has just been named as ‘TARGETjobs Graduate Employer of the Year 2016’.”
