Staffordshire University

Staffordshire University is based in Stoke on Trent, with Centres of Excellence in both Stafford and Shrewsbury, and a centre in Lichfield in partnerships with South Staffordshire College. Originally founded in 1914, today the university is a modern, relevant and vocationally inspired organisation committed to innovation, development and creativity.
The Staffordshire Coaching and Mentoring Hub, is based in the Faculty of Arts and Creative Technologies, where it forms part of a range of initiatives specialising in collaborative partnerships, community engagement, regeneration and development projects.
There is a diversity of coaching and mentoring activity across the University including access to formal qualifications; mentoring roles that assist student learning; student peer mentoring; and coaching support for staff. Staff are researching specialist areas in Coaching and Mentoring including Smarter Thinking and resilience in the workplace. The practical application of coaching and mentoring is also used to help business start-ups, including the Social Enterprise Peer Mentoring Hub for anyone interested in developing their own social enterprise and the be Inspired Staffordshire University programme which includes Business Mentoring with industry experts for staff, students and others associated with the University.
